Like most women, I love makeup. I don’t have an insane collection like some people, just a nice little collection from designers I love. No matter how big or small your collection is you need to keep it organized. Here’s my 101 on organizing you makeup.
Designate a space for your makeup. Whether you have a makeup area and table, a spot in your bathroom or maybe your spot has to move with you, it’s essential to keep your things organized.
You need to have containers that can hold all of your pieces. Maybe you’re the kind of person who likes to look at their makeup. If so, acrylic containers are for you! You can find these at Ulta, Sephora, Target, Bed Bath and Wayfair in a wide rage of sizes, shape and prices.
If you have a big collection a chest of drawers might be for you. Your wallet will really like this 5 drawer from Ikea for under $40.00. Put it together and then purchase acrylic dividers to hold and organize all of your things.
Perhaps you’re like me. I have a mirrored desk that I made into my makeup table.
Perhaps you need to take your things with you from room to room or place to place. A makeup train case might just might be the answer for you. These portable cases come in different sizes and have lots of compartments to keep you organized. This one is by Shany $50.00.
Next it’s time to separate your things into groups. I have my concealers, foundations, eye shadows, blush, eyebrow pencils, eye liners, lipsticks, lip gloss, mascara, sponges, facial brushes, eye makeup brushes, and makeup palates all separated into different containers. It makes it so easy to find things and I love having everything so neat and organized.
I don’t like having everything out. I like to use the desk space to display some things that make me happy. I collect perfumes and perfume bottles so I have a small collection of my favorite perfumes on my desk along with a beautiful Daum butterfly a few photos in jeweled frames, a lovely candle and some fresh flowers in a crystal vase. When I sit down to start my day I feel good because I surrounding myself with beauty, fond memories and good vibes.
Hope this inspires you to make yourself a special space for your makeup.
